Cochenille Design Studio is hosting our annual Fall Workshop November 1st to 3rd, 2019 in San Marcos, California!
The goal of our Garment Designer Fall retreat this year will focus on creating a simple pattern of your choice and dressing it up.
For this workshop we will be keeping the garment style simple so we can explore the use of extra details such as pockets, collars, bands etc. to create a design that is unique to you.
Software creator and Professor of Fashion, Susan Lazear, will be pulling inspiration from current fashions and trends to help guide you as you use Garment Designer to create a new custom garment.
To Be Covered in the Workshop:
• Analysis of Fashion
• Evaluating your personal style
• Identifying fashion details you would like to add
• Building simple yet creative styles
• Exploring the various functions for ‘dressing up’ a simple silhouette which include pockets, bands, collars/hoods, edgings, and adding shapes.
• Exploring in half-scale
In addition to the workshop there will be a 'Shopping and Inspiration Day' with a field trip to the National City Flea Market, Visions Art Museum and one or two fashion boutiques in the greater San Diego area.
