Welcome to the second in a series of Designalongs with Cochenille.

This Designalong features the creation of a Jacket Pattern that is innovative yet very simple to make. This jacket style is interesting because the body of the jacket can be cut in one piece. Through creative manipulation of the pattern in Garment Designer (or on the table with a commercial pattern) and some cut and paste work with the paper pattern you will build a pattern that requires only two seams! (aside from optional collar, cuffs, and pockets) The length is up to you as is your choice of pocket, cuff, and collar.

Step-by-step pattern development will be provided, and in Class two we will be drafting the pattern with Garment Designer ‘live together’, each student working along as we demonstrate.
*Note: the Jacket style is from our Easy 7 Jackets book.

You can sew, knit, or crochet the entire garment (see the knit version below),or you can combine fabrications. If you don’t have a sewing machine, there are ways to hand-stitch your garment together. Various sewing techniques (hand or machine) will be shown.
